Taste Of The Island Brings Food Fun And Giving Together
Annual event raises funds while showcasing local restaurants
Orange Beach, Ala. — (OBA) — Residents of Baldwin County and nearby communities are getting ready for an evening of food, music, and giving back. The Mystics of Pleasure Baldwin County Benevolent Fund is partnering with the Krewe de Swan to host its Annual Taste of the Island fundraiser. The event will feature local restaurants, live entertainment, and a silent auction. Organizers say the evening is designed to bring people together for a fun night while raising money for local needs.
The Taste of the Island will take place on Friday, Dec. 5, beginning at 6 p.m. It will be held at The Event Center at The Wharf in Orange Beach, a popular gathering spot for major community events. The hosts expect a strong turnout and are encouraging residents to get tickets early.
Tickets are now on sale for $75 per person, and tables of 10 are available for $750. Organizers warn that only a limited number of tickets will be sold, and they report that they are already going fast. Community members who want to attend are urged not to wait until the last minute.
Food will be a major highlight of the evening. The fundraiser includes tastings from more than 30 restaurants, giving guests a wide range of dishes to sample. Local and regional eateries will share some of their favorite menu items, turning the event into a showcase of Island flavor.
The evening will also offer plenty of entertainment beyond the food. Guests can enjoy an open bar throughout the event. There will be live music from The Fuengo Show Band, which is expected to keep the crowd energized and on the dance floor. Organizers describe the atmosphere as festive but relaxed.
In addition to food and music, the event features a “fabulous silent auction with lovely baskets.” These baskets are expected to include a variety of items and experiences donated by local businesses and supporters. The silent auction is a key part of the fundraising effort, giving attendees another way to contribute.
Dress for the Taste of the Island is described as Island Casual. This guideline invites guests to feel comfortable while still looking festive for an evening out. Organizers hope the relaxed dress code will encourage more people to attend after work or with friends and family.
The event will also support children in need during the holiday season. The Marines will be collecting Toys for Tots at the door as guests arrive. Attendees are asked to bring an unwrapped toy for a boy, a girl, or both. This effort will help ensure that local children receive gifts during the holidays.
The partnership between the Mystics of Pleasure Baldwin County Benevolent Fund and the Krewe de Swan is central to the event’s success. Both groups are known for their community involvement and support of local causes. By combining their efforts, they aim to create a night that is both enjoyable and meaningful.
