Summer Entertainment Returns to Gulf Place Beach
Lee Yankie and Jesse Taylor Perry set to perform at Gulf Place with Moana 2 and Shark Tale screenings to follow on June 3 and July 22 respectively

Gulf Shores, Ala. – (OBA) – Gulf Shores residents and visitors can look forward to free entertainment at the beach again this summer. The popular Sand, Songs, & Cinema series is returning to Gulf Place for 2025. The event pairs live music with family-friendly movies shown outdoors on the Green at Gulf Place. The Special Events Division recently announced this year’s program.
The event kicks off 3 weeks from today, on June 3. The second event is scheduled to take place on July 22. Both evenings will feature local musicians followed by movie screenings as the sun sets over the Gulf.
The first event on June 3 will showcase musician Lee Yankie paired with a screening of "Moana 2." Yankie has performed locally and nationwide for 20 years. His music blends southern sounds similar to the Allman Brothers with Caribbean reggae influences.
Yankie's background includes six years with the New Orleans band Honey Island Swamp Band. His performances typically include blues, soul, classic rock and country music elements that reflect Gulf Coast culture.
The July 22 event will feature Baldwin County native Jesse Taylor Perry before the movie "Shark Tale." Perry is known for appealing to audiences of all ages with his soulful sound and impressive guitar skills.
Perry's musical versatility allows him to perform across many genres. Fans appreciate how his performances bring people together and keep audiences guessing what song might come next.
The Gulf Shores Lions Club will sell food during both events. Attendees should bring blankets and lawn chairs for comfortable seating during the concerts and movies.
