Drug Bundle Washes Ashore on a Fort Morgan Beach
Beachgoers warned about hazardous items washing ashore

Fort Morgan, Ala. — (OBA) — Deputies with the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office recovered a large bundle of cocaine that washed ashore on the Fort Morgan Peninsula. The discovery happened in unincorporated Baldwin County and was quickly reported by a concerned citizen. Coastal Enforcement Units responded and confirmed that the bundle looked like illegal drugs. The package was then taken to the Sheriff’s Office Investigations Command for testing.
The incident took place on June 26, 2025. Investigators found that the bundle contained 50 kilos of cocaine, wrapped individually. The total weight was about 110 pounds. The Department of Homeland Security was contacted and will now lead the investigation.
Officials say it’s not unusual for more drug bundles to appear along the shoreline. Deputies urge the public not to open or handle any found packages. Some may hold dangerous chemicals or drugs.
Authorities thanked the person who made the report. Their quick action allowed deputies to secure the drugs and begin tracking their source. Anyone who finds similar items is urged to call law enforcement right away.
