Perdido Key Fishing Rodeo Returns for a Second Year

Perdido Key, Fla. — (OBA) —  The Perdido Key Chamber of Commerce is bringing back its popular summer fishing tournament. The 2nd Annual Perdido Key Fishing Rodeo will take place over three days of competition, from Friday to Sunday, July 25–27. Anglers of all ages are invited to compete for prizes in both inshore and offshore fishing categories. This community event offers friendly competition, cash prizes, and a family-friendly atmosphere on the beautiful Gulf Coast.


Fishing kicks off at midnight on Friday, July 25. The official weigh-ins will be held Saturday and Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. each day. The event will be hosted at Entertainer Bait & Tackle, located at 13506 Perdido Key Drive under the east side of the Theo Baars Bridge.


Anglers will compete in multiple divisions for first, second, and third place cash prizes. Inshore species include Speckled Trout, Redfish, Mangrove Snapper, and Flounder. Offshore divisions will feature Red Snapper, Vermillion Snapper, King Mackerel, and Spanish Mackerel.


Registration is $40 for adults and $25 for kids under 12. There is also an optional Trash Can Slam category for an additional $20. This extra category adds a fun twist and encourages participation from all skill levels.


Each registered participant will receive a raffle ticket for Sunday’s drawing at 5 p.m. Additional raffle and 50/50 tickets can be purchased at the event for cash only. The tournament is open to both locals and visitors looking to enjoy a great weekend on the water.
