Annual summer tradition offers fun for all ages at the public beach

S’mores on the Shore

Gulf Shores, Ala. — (OBA) — Gulf Shores is preparing for one of its most popular summer traditions as the city gets ready to host S’mores on the Shore. Families and visitors can look forward to an evening filled with campfires, music, and sweet treats. The event is known for bringing together residents and guests of all ages for a night of fun on the sand. Organizers are promising various free activities, making it a highlight of the summer for the Gulf Shores community.

This year’s S’mores on the Shore is scheduled for Thursday, July 31. The festivities will begin at 6 p.m. and continue until 8 p.m. The event will take place at the Gulf Place Town Green, located at 101 Gulf Shores Parkway. City officials encourage everyone to bring blankets, chairs, and friends to relax and enjoy the beautiful white sand of the Gulf Shores Public Beach.

Attendees can expect a range of activities and free items. S’mores packets will be handed out to families so they can roast marshmallows over campfires. A live DJ will provide music throughout the evening, and there will be a balloon artist and face painting for children. The Lions Club will be on site selling hot dogs, chips, and drinks for those looking for a quick bite.

Several local organizations will also be present at the event. The Gulf Shores City Store and Gulf Shores Public Library will have booths, and guests can meet representatives from the Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo and Bama Beach Buggies. These partners help make the event a true community celebration.

S’mores on the Shore began in 2010 and has quickly grown into a favorite event for both residents and visitors. Brigette Reynolds, the city’s Special Events Manager, said she is proud to have helped start the tradition and is excited to see it continue to grow. The city’s Recreation and Cultural Affairs Department works hard each year to provide free, family-friendly activities for everyone.

For more information about S’mores on the Shore, residents can contact the Special Events Division at 251-968-1171. Updates and alerts are also available through the city’s website at
the Gulf Shores Events website. Organizers hope to see families from across the area come out and enjoy a night of summer fun on the Gulf Shores.
