Community-wide wellness challenge aims to inspire healthy habits

Orange Beach Adult Fitness Center

Orange Beach, Ala. – (OBA) – Orange Beach Parks and Recreation is set to kick off its 14-Day Spring Wellness Challenge on Sunday, March 30th. The Wellness Challenge aims to promote community health through nutrition, fitness, stress management, and community connection. This initiative is designed to encourage residents to adopt healthier lifestyles while fostering community engagement.

How It Works:

The challenge will feature daily health topics and assignments, encouraging participants to complete 14 wellness tasks over the two-week period. All tasks must be completed by Sunday, April 13th, with a checklist submission deadline of 9:00 a.m. on Monday, April 14th, at the fitness center to be eligible for prizes.

Participants will receive daily videos and assignments posted on the Orange Beach Parks & Recreation Facebook page and through email. While participation can be done independently from home, attendees are encouraged to engage in online community discussions and attend free fitness classes offered throughout the challenge.

Free Community Fitness Classes:

A highlight of the event is the availability of free community fitness classes scheduled throughout the 14 days. This offers an opportunity for residents to engage in physical activities, learn new exercises, and connect with fellow participants.

Prizes and Incentives:

To motivate participants, Orange Beach Parks and Recreation is offering multiple prizes. Those who complete all 14 challenges will be entered into a drawing for gift cards from local businesses, valued at $100 and $50.

Additionally, two grand prizes will be awarded to overall winners based on participation and engagement. Each grand prize package is valued at approximately $500. Winners will be selected based on consistent participation, completion of assignments, and attendance at community fitness classes.

Registration and Participation:

Registration is free and can be completed online. (Click here to register.) Interested participants are encouraged to sign up early and follow the Parks & Recreation Facebook page for updates and additional information.
