MaxPreps' Names MK McMullan Alabama Player of the Year

Orange Beach, Ala. — (OBA) — Orange Beach sophomore MK McMullan has been named the 2026 MaxPreps Player of the Year for Alabama, following a dominant season that saw her help lead the Makos to their sixth consecutive state championship.


McMullan, who excels as both a pitcher and a first baseman, anchored the Makos' success with a remarkable 30-win season and an impressive 0.44 ERA. Her contributions were not limited to the circle; she was a major offensive force in the lineup, batting .443 and tallying 13 home runs.


Her performance was instrumental in helping Orange Beach capture a record-breaking sixth consecutive state title, further cementing the program's historic dynasty. McMullan’s recognition comes as the Orange Beach Makos continue to be recognized as one of the top-ranked high school softball teams in the nation.


This award highlights a standout sophomore campaign for McMullan, whose versatility and elite production have made her one of the most impactful players in high school softball today.
