Flora-Bama Fishing Rodeo Takes Place June 5-7

Orange Beach, Ala. — (OBA) —  Registration is now open for the 13th Annual Flora-Bama Fishing Rodeo, one of the Gulf Coast's most well-known fishing tournaments. The event is a three-day Captain's Choice competition open to anglers of all experience levels. Tournament organizers say that participation is open to all and that attendees are encouraged to bring family and friends. The Rodeo will feature daily weigh-ins, a beach party, and an awards ceremony.

The tournament is scheduled for June 5 through 7, 2026. Tickets may be purchased online until 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, June 4, 2026. The Rodeo will be held at the Flora-Bama Ole River Grill beach area, located across the street from the World Famous Flora-Bama Lounge.

Organizers have billed it as the "Funnest" fishing tournament on the Gulf Coast and describe it as an "Every Man's" fishing rodeo. Competitors will have a shot at first-, second-, and third-place finishes across 30 categories. Those categories range from catfish and red snapper to billfish and spearfishing.

Fish may be caught from any location between Cape San Blas, Florida, and the Texas-Louisiana border. Anglers do not have to sign out from a specific location. Boats that cannot fit under the Ono Island Bridge are asked to bring their fish in by vehicle.

Weigh-in stations will be open from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, June 5, and Saturday, June 6, at the Ole River Grill beach area. Organizers note that anyone not in line by the closing time will not be able to weigh in. For online purchases, participants are asked to print their confirmation email or show it on a phone at the weigh station.

The rodeo opens at 12 a.m. CT on Friday, June 5, 2026, and closes at 6 p.m. CT on Saturday, June 6, 2026. A Facebook Live virtual captain's meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Friday, June 5, on the Flora-Bama Fishing Rodeo Facebook page. The awards ceremony is set for 11 a.m. on Sunday, June 7, at the Flora-Bama Yacht Club Stage.

Every participant must enter either the kids division or the adults division. A child may compete in the adults division by purchasing an adult ticket. However, adults may not compete in the kids division.

Live music, food, vendor booths, a fish viewing area, and activities for all ages are planned for both Friday and Saturday. Those events will take place at the Flora-Bama Yacht Club and Flora-Bama Ole River Grill. Organizers say there will be something for the whole family throughout the weekend.
