NCAA Beach Volleyball Championship Set to Take Over Gulf Shores' Beaches

Gulf Shores Welcomes the 2023 NCAA Beach Volleyball Championship

Gulf Shores, Ala. - (OBA) - The City of Gulf Shores is preparing to host the prestigious 2023 NCAA Beach Volleyball Championship on its stunning white-sand beaches. Teams from across the nation will gather to compete in this highly anticipated event.

Public parking at Gulf Place, located directly south of The Hangout restaurant, will be closed to vehicle traffic starting Thursday, April 27, to allow for tournament setup. However, the Gulf Place Public Beach will remain open for public use until Wednesday, May 3. From May 3, the area will transform into a ticketed venue for the NCAA Beach Volleyball Championship. Gulf Place public parking and beach access are scheduled to reopen on Wednesday, May 10.

Visitors can still access all other beach entrances and parking areas during this time. The suspect, 52-year-old Patrick Odell Levens from Pensacola, Florida, had used a power tool to cut a hole in the back wall to get inside.
