Fourth Annual Coastal Tailgate Cook-Off Challenge Returns to The Wharf in Orange Beach

Orange Beach, Ala. — (OBA) — The 4th Annual Coastal Tailgate Cook-Off Challenge is returning to The Wharf in Orange Beach. Presented by Columbia Southern University, the event qualifies competitors for the World Food Championships. Culinary teams, restaurants, and individuals from across the region are invited to compete. The cook-off attracts between 500 and 700 guests each year.
The event is scheduled for Saturday, August 22, 2026, at The Wharf in Orange Beach. This will mark the fourth consecutive year the competition has been held at the waterfront entertainment venue. Average attendance has ranged from 500 to 700 guests since the event began.
The Coastal Tailgate Cook-Off Challenge is billed as the kickoff to football season. It combines culinary competition with game-day energy, offering something for competitors and fans alike. Community members can attend to eat, watch, or compete alongside regional culinary talent.
Sponsorship opportunities are available at several levels for businesses seeking to support the event. The Presenting Sponsor package is $2,500 and includes entrance signage, a booth, and recognition across all Cook-Off-related media and press releases. It also includes a complimentary entry into the competition.
Other sponsorship tiers include Beverage Sponsor at $2,000, Entertainment Sponsor at $1,500, and Awards Sponsor at $1,500. Facilities and Sunscreen/Bug Spray Sponsors are each $500, and a Fan Sponsor option is available for $150, with signage on football-themed signs around the event perimeter.
