Fort Morgan Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary Hosts Inaugural Red, White, and Run 5K

Fort Morgan, Ala. — (OBA) —  The Fort Morgan Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary will host the inaugural Red, White & Run 5K at Jesse's on the Bay in Fort Morgan, Alabama. The race is open to runners of all fitness levels and is designed to bring the community together for the Fourth of July holiday weekend. Participants are encouraged to wear red, white, and blue for the festive occasion. All proceeds from the event will support the Fort Morgan Volunteer Fire Department's community emergency services.


The 5K will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2026, with the race starting at 7 a.m. The event is part of the nationwide celebration of America's 250th Anniversary. Runners can expect scenic views, patriotic spirit, and a festive atmosphere along the course.


Registration runs through Tuesday, June 30, at $40 for adults and $30 for children. Runners can sign up online at
redwhiterun5k.itsyourrace.com. Sponsorships are still available, and interested parties can find more information on Facebook or by emailing fmvfdla@gmail.com


Laura Darnell of the Ladies Auxiliary said the event means more than finishing a race. "This event is more than a race. It's a celebration of community, patriotism, and support for the volunteers who serve Fort Morgan," Darnell said. "Many thanks to our race sponsors; without them, we could not do this."


The Fort Morgan Volunteer Fire Department relies on community support and volunteers to serve the area. Events such as the Red, White & Run 5K raise funds that keep emergency services running for residents of the Fort Morgan Peninsula.
