The school was placed on a lockdown until the incident could be fully investigated. A K9 Unit swept the school and the areas were searched with no weapons being located.

A 13-year-old male student at the school was arrested and charged with Disorderly Conduct, after it was discovered that he told another student that he had a gun. Again, investigators did not locate any weapon at the school and have followed up with the student’s parents

As stated earlier today, we would like to commend the students involved in bringing information about this situation forward. The students reported this in the right way by telling school staff of the situation. By following proper channels and allowing procedures to begin, the Foley Police Department was able to handle the threat swiftly and efficiently.
