Robertsdale, Ala. — (OBA) —  The Baldwin County Commission has released a sweeping long-range planning document for public review. The Commission announced the "Draft Master Plan 2026" in late July. The plan outlines strategies for growth, infrastructure, land use, and transportation throughout the county. It also addresses environmental stewardship and quality-of-life improvements for residents and businesses.

The Planning and Zoning Commission will be the first to consider the draft. The meeting is scheduled for Thursday, August 6, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. at the Baldwin County Central Annex Auditorium, 22251 Palmer Street, Robertsdale, Alabama. If approved, the plan will then move to the full Baldwin County Commission for final consideration.

The Baldwin County Commission will take up the plan on Tuesday, September 1, 2026. A work session will begin at 9:00 a.m., followed by a regular meeting at 10:00 a.m. Both sessions will be held at the Baldwin County Administration Building, 322 Courthouse Square, Bay Minette, Alabama 36507.

County officials are encouraging residents, business owners, and stakeholders to get involved before those votes. The draft plan is available online on the Baldwin County Planning and Zoning Department's website. The county wants the final plan to reflect shared community priorities, not just the views of elected officials.

Residents who want to weigh in can submit feedback by email to planning@baldwincountyal.gov. The county asks that comments be submitted before the August 6 Planning and Zoning Commission meeting. Public participation is considered a key step in shaping the document before it reaches the commission for a final vote.
