This leisurely event challenges community members and visitors to locate and photograph 10 specific locations within the downtown area.

The scavenger hunt will run from July 15th to August 9th, allowing participants 29 days to complete their quest. Those who successfully finish the hunt will be entered into a drawing for a grand prize of $250 and receive an official Downtown Foley Beach Bum sticker. Additionally, ten $25 gift cards will be awarded for the most outstanding photos based on originality, humor, and cuteness.

The scavenger hunt is confined to the Foley Main Street District, encompassing the area from Rose Ave on N. McKenzie Street to W. Verbena Ave, and from Pine Street to Cypress Street on Laurel Ave. This focused area ensures participants can easily navigate between locations while exploring the heart of downtown Foley.

The grand prize drawing for $250 will take place on August 13th, with the top ten photo winners being announced simultaneously. Winners will be contacted via social media messenger and are required to pick up their prizes in person from the Foley Main Street office.

To participate in this tech-savvy adventure, interested individuals need to download the Distrx app from the App Store. After creating an account and locating the Downtown Foley district within the app, users can begin their scavenger hunt journey. The app utilizes beacon technology to guide participants to each location, blending modern technology with community engagement.

Organizers encourage participants to ensure all notifications and Bluetooth capabilities are enabled on their phones for optimal app performance. If any issues arise, a simple phone restart may resolve them.
