Disney’s Frozen Musical Brings Magic To Orange Beach Stage

Orange Beach, Ala. — (OBA) — Expect Excellence Theater is set to bring a touch of Disney magic to the Alabama Gulf Coast as “Frozen: The Broadway Musical” takes the stage at the Orange Beach Performing Arts Center this spring. The production will feature the timeless story of sisterly love, courage, and friendship that captured hearts around the world when the original movie debuted in 2013. Audiences can expect to see familiar characters such as Queen Elsa, Princess Anna, Kristoff, and Olaf, all brought to life through music and performance.

The show will run for six performances over two weekends, from Friday, March 6, to Sunday, March 8, and again from March 13 to 15. Friday and Saturday performances will start at 7 p.m., with Sunday matinees at 2 p.m. All shows will be held at the Orange Beach Performing Arts Center on the campus of Orange Beach Middle and High Schools.

The basic struggles between Elsa and Anna and their eventual reunion because of their family bond are similar to many people’s family dynamics and are a very relatable story,” said Performing Arts Manager Stacie Brane. Speaking about the musical’s well-known songs, Brane added, “The songs are very endearing, and you will be singing these songs around the house for days.”

The production will feature a cast of about 75 local performers, ranging from third graders to adults. Rehearsals began late last year as community members came together to recreate the award-winning Broadway adaptation. Brane said anticipation has been high since the show was announced, noting, “There has been a lot of excitement building around this production from the moment we announced the auditions, and we are thrilled to bring this uplifting story to the community.”
