Jeff Boyd announces mayoral candidacy

Orange Beach, Ala. — (OBA) — Since 2008 the city of Orange Beach has been under the leadership of Mayor Tony Kennon. During much of that time Jeff Boyd was a member of the City Council and supported much of the Mayor's agenda. Those days may have come to an end as Boyd released a statement confirming he will seek election as the Mayor of Orange Beach in August, 2025.

Boyd, who has lived in Orange Beach since 2003, said he has a bold vision for the future.

“As Mayor, I will fight to protect our coast, support working families, and keep Orange Beach a place we’re proud to call home,” said Boyd. “This city deserves steady leadership rooted in service — not politics.”

Boyd has worked closely with the America First Policy Institute, a nonprofit organization that outlines the America First agenda. Boyd said his work involves representing local interests in Washington, D.C. and Mar-a-Lago.

Boyd announced his candidacy on Tuesday, highlighting the achievements he made during his time on the council.

As a public servant and community advocate, Boyd has contributed to coastal preservation civic advancement, including being a driving force behind the Leave Only Footprints beach cleanup initiative. He also championed a resolution securing a 13-week snapper season for locals and has lobbied in Washington for dredging projects.

Boyd served as president of the Hope Foundation and chairman of the Medical Authority.

Boyd and his wife, Kay, have three children and are deeply engaged in the church, civic life and local schools.
