Coastal Alabama Chamber hosts PowHER Hour+ with guest Teresa LeRette

Gulf Shores, Ala. — (OBA) — The Coastal Alabama Business Chamber is preparing to welcome Teresa LeRette as the next featured speaker in its PowHER Hour+ Women’s Speaker Series. The event is scheduled at the Erie Meyer Civic Center in Gulf Shores and will focus on community, resilience, and empowerment. LeRette, whose family’s story has inspired both readers and moviegoers, will share her experience navigating challenges and finding strength. Local organizers say the program aims to connect women across Baldwin County in a meaningful way.

The luncheon takes place Wednesday, September 17. Admission is $50 and includes a meal. Tickets are available through the Chamber’s website (link below). The program is supported by presenting sponsor Beachball Properties, with quarterly sponsorships from Hilton Garden Inn Orange Beach and the City of Gulf Shores.

LeRette’s family gained national attention through the best-selling book
The Unbreakable Boy, which tells the story of her son Austin’s journey with significant medical issues and autism. The book was later adapted into a Lionsgate feature film that premiered in February 2024, starring Zachary Levi, Meghann Fahy, Patricia Heaton, and Peter Facinelli. LeRette is expected to speak about the lessons drawn from her family’s experiences while also encouraging guests to embrace perseverance and hope.

The PowHER Hour+ series was created as a platform for women in Coastal Alabama to gather in a positive atmosphere and exchange ideas, guidance, and encouragement. Chamber officials say the addition of a well-known national speaker like LeRette reinforces the group’s mission of strengthening both personal and professional growth.

The Chamber itself has been active in the region since 1981. With offices in both Gulf Shores and Orange Beach, it continues to focus on supporting businesses and community partnerships. Leaders say events like PowHER Hour+ benefit individuals and help sustain a stronger network for the local economy.
