Coastal Arts Center at Orange Beach

Orange Beach, Ala. — (OBA) — Art lovers in Orange Beach will have a unique opportunity to create their own masterpieces next month. The Coastal Arts Center is hosting a special event designed to bring the community together through creative activities. Visitors can try their hand at glass blowing, pottery making, and other artistic crafts. The event promises something for everyone, from young children to experienced artists.

Locals Art Day will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, November 15. The five-hour celebration will feature hands-on classes, live demonstrations, and free activities throughout the day.

Anyone interested in making blown glass art or pottery can sign up for morning or afternoon class sessions. Those who want to participate should call the art center ahead of time to reserve their spot. The phone number to schedule an appointment is 251-981-2787.  Families with children can participate in a free art project at 10:30 a.m. and should call to sign up for the kids class as there will be limited space available.

The event will also include live demonstrations from talented local artists. Painters and jewelry makers will show visitors their creative techniques throughout the day. These demonstrations give people a chance to watch skilled craftspeople at work.

The Coastal Arts Center sits on a beautiful property overlooking Wolf Bay. The facility is located on Canal Road, east of Highway 161, just past the Orange Beach Library and next to the Waterfront Kids Park. The center's address is 26389 Canal Road. The campus features The Hot Shop, which is a hot glass blowing studio where visitors can make their own glass pieces. The Clay Studio allows people to throw pottery on the wheel or hand-build their own creations. Both facilities will be open during Locals Art Day for scheduled classes.

The center also has a 10,000-square-foot fine art gallery that displays works by Gulf Coast artists. This spacious two-story building showcases paintings, sculptures, pottery, and other artwork from talented regional creators. The gallery is open for browsing during regular hours.

The Coastal Arts Center has become an important part of the Orange Beach community. It offers year-round classes for adults and runs special programs for children. The center combines artistic education with entertainment in a welcoming environment.

People planning to attend should dress comfortably and be ready to get creative. Glass blowing and pottery classes involve working with hot materials and clay. Participants should wear closed-toe shoes and clothes they don't mind getting dirty.

For more information about Locals Art Day or other programs at the center, residents can call 251-981-2787. The phone line connects directly to the art center staff, who can answer questions about class availability and event details. Staff members can also provide information about parking and what to bring.  More info is also available at
www.CoastalArtsCenter.com and on Facebook at www.facebook.com/CoastalArtCenter.

The November event represents an effort to engage residents with their community arts center. By offering free activities alongside paid classes, organizers hope to attract both serious artists and casual visitors. The day aims to celebrate creativity and bring neighbors together.
