Thunderbirds Join Blue Angels for NAS Pensacola Homecoming Air Show in November

It’s been confirmed, the Thunderbirds will fly at the NAS Pensacola Homecoming Airshow

NAS Pensacola, Fla. – (OBA) – The U.S. Navy's Blue Angels and the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds will take to the skies over Pensacola, Florida, for a spectacular airshow this November. The Naval Air Station (NAS) Pensacola announced this morning that both elite flight demonstration teams will be performing during the 2024 Blue Angels Homecoming Airshow on November 1 and 2.


According to the NAS Pensacola Commanding Officer, Capt. Terry 'Village' Shashaty, "Having our military's top flight demonstration teams perform at the 'Cradle of Naval Aviation' will undoubtedly be an experience you won't want to miss!" 


For those who didn’t know, the Blue Angels, the Navy's flight demonstration squadron, are based at NAS Pensacola. The airshow is a homecoming event for the team, which is known for its precise flying maneuvers and thrilling aerial displays. The U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds are based at Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada.


Shashaty emphasized the significance of the event, stating, "The Blue Angels and the Homecoming Airshow are most certainly ingrained in the identity of Pensacola and the surrounding communities." 


In addition to the Blue Angels and Thunderbirds, the airshow will feature civilian performers showcasing the capabilities and precision of both the Navy and Air Force teams.


The NAS Pensacola Commanding Officer expressed pride in hosting the family-friendly event, which promises to be a spectacular display of aviation excellence.
