New Allegiant Routes Link Gulf Shores to Six Cities

Gulf Shores, Ala. – (OBA) – Allegiant Air has announced a significant expansion, introducing 44 new nonstop routes, including service to Gulf Shores International Airport (GUF) in Alabama. This marks the airline's first entry into Gulf Shores, aiming to provide affordable travel options to this popular Gulf Coast destination.


Starting in May 2025, Allegiant will offer nonstop flights from GUF to six cities:


  • Knoxville, Tennessee via McGhee Tyson Airport (TYS) – beginning May 21, 2025, with one-way fares starting at $49.
  • Cincinnati, Ohio via Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) – beginning May 22, 2025, with one-way fares starting at $59.
  • Houston, Texas via William P. Hobby Airport (HOU) – beginning May 22, 2025, with one-way fares starting at $49.
  • Bentonville/Fayetteville, Arkansas via Northwest Arkansas National Airport (XNA) – beginning May 22, 2025, with one-way fares starting at $49.
  • Belleville, Illinois via MidAmerica St. Louis Airport (BLV) – beginning May 23, 2025, with one-way fares starting at $49.
  • Kansas City, Missouri via Kansas City International Airport (MCI) – beginning May 24, 2025, with one-way fares starting at $59.

This expansion is part of Allegiant's broader strategy to connect underserved cities with popular vacation spots, offering budget-friendly travel options. The airline's focus on nonstop flights aims to enhance convenience for travelers seeking direct access to Gulf Shores' beaches and attractions.


Allegiant's entry into Gulf Shores is expected to boost tourism and provide residents with new travel opportunities. The airline's commitment to low-cost fares aligns with its goal of making leisure travel more accessible.

The announcement was made inside a Gulf Shores airport hanger and attended by the mayors of Orange Beach, Foley and Robert Craft of Gulf Shores. Mayor Craft gave special recognition to each city leader and the area's Convention and Visitors Bureau for their contribution in brining airline travel to the market.

Two Vehicle Wreck Near Foley Claims Orange Beach Woman’s Life

Foley, Ala. — (OBA) — The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALES) is reporting that an Orange Beach woman died after a two-vehicle crash late Wednesday morning near Foley. The accident happened on South Hickory Street near Baldwin County 20. The ALEA said the crash involved a Chevrolet pickup and a Jeep SUV. Troopers are still investigating the cause of the crash.
