Baldwin EMC, Riviera Tackle Widespread Outages

Orange Beach, Ala. – (OBA) – Baldwin County, Alabama, recently experienced significant storm activity, leading to widespread power outages across the region. Baldwin EMC reported that 4,620 meters were out of service across their service area. With the majority of the adverse weather conditions having passed, their crews have commenced restoration efforts.

Riviera Utilities, also affected by the storm, indicated that 275 meters remain out, but they have successfully restored power to over 3,100 customers since 5 p.m. the previous day. Riviera Utilities has mobilized all available crews, who are working diligently and safely to restore power as conditions permit. The company emphasized the importance of customers reporting outages directly, rather than relying on neighbors to do so. Both utility companies are responding to the challenges posed by high winds and falling tree limbs, prioritizing safety and efficiency in their efforts to return power to the affected areas. Residents are advised to stay updated and report any service interruptions to their respective operations centers.

Baldwin EMC:
We currently have 4,620 meters out across the service area. Now that most of the weather has moved through the area, crews are now beginning to get back out to restore power.

Riviera Utilities:
