San Francisco Supervisor Of 2nd Worst Run City Wants To Ban The Blue Angels

Local aviator and author has a response

Pensacola, Fla. - (OBA) - Dean Preston is the District 5 Supervisor of San Francisco. The city was voted as the 2nd "Worst-Run major Cities" in the US by "The Hill", a national news outlet.


Dean Preston stated that the U.S. Navy's flight demonstration team, the Blue Angels, should be banned from flying over the city of San Francisco in a tweet on October 9th. Then Councilman complained about people outside his district responding to his comments.


The Blue Angels, who perform in as many as 60 airshows annually, are a cornerstone of the Pensacola, Florida community and are considered the World's Best Aeronautic Flight Team. They have performed in airshows since 1946 in front of over 500 million people. The Blues are considered the best pilots of the US Naval Aviation program and their pilots pilots are known for accomplishments both in the air and on the ground.


Many news outlets around the nation reached out to Dean Preston's office but have yet to receive a statement clarifying why he wants the Blue Angels banned from San Francisco's sky.


The local "Air Boss" of the Pensacola Air show did have some advice for the San Francisco Council person. Paul Entrekin, a highly decorated retired Naval Aviator and F-18 pilot, thought that more research should have been done by Dean Preston before making those comments. Entrekin stated "The Blue Angels actual mission is one of inspiring a culture of excellence and service to our nation."


Paul Entrekin is not only a true "Top Gun", he is a local author who will be signing his latest children's book at Barnes & Noble on Saturday, Nov, 19 in Pensacola. You can also purchase it online . A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the book will be donated to 501(c)3 charity, Pilots For Kids (PFK). PFK is a voluntary organization comprised of pilots from around the World who are dedicated to helping hospitalized children as well as those in shelters, orphanages, halfway houses and other facilities with wheelchairs, medical equipment, toys and other needs, primarily during the holiday season.
