Perdido Key, Fla. — (OBA) —   The Perdido Key Area Chamber of Commerce has opened applications for its 2026-2027 Leadership Perdido Key class. The program is among the area's top leadership development opportunities. It is designed to educate, inspire, and connect leaders across the Perdido Key community. Both current and emerging leaders are encouraged to apply.

The program offers participants an in-depth look at the organizations, industries, and issues that shape life along the Gulf Coast. Through hands-on experiences, behind-the-scenes tours, and conversations with local leaders, participants leave with a clearer picture of what makes the region tick. They also build strong professional relationships that can last a lifetime.

Applications are now open, and the application deadline is July 31, 2026. The program will kick off with a welcome reception in late August. The first full-day class session is scheduled for September 9, 2026.

After that, participants will meet once a month for a full day of learning through January. Each session focuses on a different topic, including local government, tourism, economic development, healthcare, military affairs, environmental stewardship, public safety, education, and community engagement.

The program concludes with a graduation ceremony at the Perdido Key Area Chamber of Commerce Annual Dinner & Awards. At the event, participants will be recognized for their hard work and dedication to leadership and community involvement.

Tammy Thurow, President and CEO of the Perdido Key Area Chamber of Commerce, explained why the program matters. "Leadership Perdido Key offers an incredible opportunity for individuals to deepen their understanding of our community, develop leadership skills, and build meaningful connections," she said. Thurow added, "We are excited to welcome a new class of leaders who are passionate about making a positive impact on the Perdido Key area's future."

The program is a strong fit for a wide range of community members. Business professionals, nonprofit leaders, entrepreneurs, educators, and community volunteers are encouraged to apply. The common thread is a desire to get more involved and grow as a leader.

Class size is intentionally kept small. Organizers want to ensure every participant has a meaningful and interactive experience. As a result, interested applicants are urged to submit their applications by the July 31 deadline.
