Orange Beach Golf Center Continues its Monthly Skins Events Through Spring

OBA Staff • November 1, 2025

Registration is at noon and shotgun start is at 1 p.m. with $30 entry

Boggy Point Boat Ramp Will Be Closed Two Days for Repairs Next Week

Orange Beach, Ala. — (OBA) — The Orange Beach Golf Center is continuing its monthly Skins Tournaments for the cooler months, offering a simple format and steady schedule. Organizers say the events are open to players of all skill levels. The series focuses on friendly competition, approachable play, and community fun. Staff emphasize one price covers everything, with no add-ons for contests.

The series runs on the first Sunday of each month (weather permitting) from October through April, with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. and registration at 12 p.m. The opening date was Sunday, October 5. After a weather delay, the first of the month Sunday Skins Tournament was postponed to Sunday, October 12. The next Skins Game is scheduled to take place tomorrow, Sunday, November 2, with registration at noon and a 1 p.m. start.

Each month’s entry fee is $30 for members and non members. That fee includes closest to the pin competitions, skins on all 18 holes, and a hole-in-one chance. There is a $250 award for a hole in one on any of the 18 holes. Organizers confirm there are no extra charges for the contests covered by the entry.

Golfers will play the 9-hole, par 3 course from a blue and white tees setup to create 18 scoring opportunities. A shotgun start helps keep play moving and brings the field out together. Registration at noon gives staff time to organize groups and scorecards. Players are encouraged to arrive early and warm up on the range.

Closest to the pin contests add extra excitement on the par 3 layout. The skins format rewards the best standalone score on a hole, which can create momentum swings. The hole-in-one component adds drama on every tee shot. Organizers say these elements keep the day competitive and fun without making the format complicated.

Staff members note that the series is built to be consistent and affordable. The first Sunday rhythm helps regulars return and new players try the format. Players of all experience levels are welcome to join.

The Orange Beach Golf Center is located at 4700 Easy Street in Orange Beach, just off Canal Road. Outside of tournament play, the course is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. The lighted driving range operates every day from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. The steady hours support practice and league play throughout the season.

Organizers say the course’s approachable layout makes it a good fit for newer golfers. At the same time, experienced players will find targets and angles to test short game skills. The goal is steady play, fair competition, and a welcoming atmosphere for all participants.

Tournament staff recommend calling ahead with questions about start times, format, or day-of details. They can also confirm course and range hours for practice rounds.
