January Events Bring Art, Travel and Games to Seniors

Orange Beach, Ala. — (OBA) — The Orange Beach Senior Center has scheduled a series of January activities aimed at keeping older adults active and connected. The programs include art classes, guided outings, and a music bingo night, with most registrations available online or at the center. These events provide opportunities for community engagement and personal enrichment. The center's diverse offerings reflect a commitment to serving the interests of its senior population.
Catman Trail Tour Opens the Month on January 15
The first special event is a Catman Trail Tour on January 15, 2026, from 1 to 3 p.m. A shuttle departs the senior center at 12:45 p.m. and returns around 3 p.m. The trip offers a guided look at part of the Hugh S. Branyon Backcountry Trail system.
Local tourism guides often point to the Backcountry Trail’s mix of pine woods, marsh, and coastal views as a draw for residents and visitors. Registration for the tour opens December 15, with options to sign up online or in person.
Resin Art Class Set for January 20
Next on the calendar is a Resin Art Class on January 20, 2026, from noon to 3 p.m. at the Orange Beach Senior Center on Canal Road. The cost is $25 per person, due at registration.
Tonja from Sandy Beach Inspirations in Pensacola will teach participants how to create an 8-by-10 framed nautical-themed piece using glass tiles, beads, charms, and other small items set in resin. Online and in-person registration opens December 23 at 8 a.m.
Credit card payments include a 3.5 percent fee that is nonrefundable. Cancellations made at least three days before the class may receive an account credit; later cancellations are not eligible for credit or refund.
Day Trip to Mobile Carnival Museum on January 21
On January 21, 2026, the senior center will lead a road trip to the Mobile Carnival Museum, which highlights the history and costumes of Mardi Gras in Mobile. Tourism sources describe Mobile as the birthplace of the modern U.S. Mardi Gras celebration.
The itinerary begins with an 8 a.m. departure from the Orange Beach Senior Center. A guided museum tour starts at 9:30 a.m., followed by lunch at Ralph & Kacoo’s at 11 a.m. Lunch is not included in the trip cost.
The group plans to leave Mobile at 1 p.m. and return to Orange Beach around 2 p.m. The price is $10 per person, and a QR code on the flyer links to online registration. The same credit card fee and cancellation policy apply.
Music Bingo Night Closes Out the Month
The center’s January schedule wraps up with “Music Bingo Night” on January 28, 2026, from 4 to 6 p.m. The event combines bingo with music clips, giving players a chance to match songs to spaces on their cards.
Admission is $5 and includes gumbo along with chances at prizes. Registration opens December 29, using either the QR code printed on the flyer or in-person sign-up at the senior center.
