Orange Beach Freedom Festival Returns to The Wharf With Full Weekend of Events

Orange Beach, Ala. — (OBA) — The Wharf in Orange Beach will once again serve as the backdrop for the annual Freedom Festival, which has become one of the city’s signature fall gatherings. Now in its fifth year, the event promises a wide mix of activities designed to draw families, car enthusiasts, music lovers, and supporters of community causes. From classic cars to live music and children’s games, organizers have arranged a lineup meant to appeal to both locals and visitors. With two full days of scheduled events, it appears the festival is shaping up to be one of the busiest weekends of the season.

The festival is set to kick off one week from today, Saturday, September 20, and wrap up on Sunday, September 21, at The Wharf. Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday. Admission is free to most events, though entry is required for the Firearms Show. Shuttles will be available both days from Orange Beach Middle/High School, with handicap parking and an accessible shuttle also provided.

Main Street will host the Bama Coast Cruisin’ Fall Car Show, a feature that draws significant attention from collectors and fans alike. At the same time, the Event Center will hold the second annual Firearms Show. Saturday will also include a motorcycle and Jeep rally, followed by a noon parade tied to the “Freedom Rally & Ride for Zealand to Fight Cancer,” a fundraiser that continues to gain traction each year.

Organizers say the festival also includes attractions geared toward younger families, such as a Kids’ Zone and arts and crafts booths. Food vendors, outdoor activities, and military and veteran displays round out the offerings. With no admission fee for the main festival, many see it as an accessible event for residents and out-of-town guests.

Live music has been scheduled for both days on the Flora-Bama/CoastAL Music Stage, located on the vendor side of the festival.

Saturday’s performers include :

  • Mike Diamond from 9 to 11 a.m.
  • Tim Roberts Duo from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Al & Cathy from 1 to 3 p.m.
  • Willie Traywick Band from 3 to 5 p.m.

Sunday’s lineup features:

  • Ronnie Presley from 10 a.m. to noon
  • Mike Diamond again from noon to 2 p.m.
  • Tyler Ward closing out from 2 to 4 p.m.

Festival officials note that parking will be available on site and throughout The Wharf, but with large crowds expected, shuttles remain a recommended option. Shuttle pickup will be at the bell tower of Orange Beach Middle/High School and drop-off at the Main Street circle at The Wharf. Organizers encourage attendees to plan ahead for traffic, especially with multiple events running at the same time.

Additional details, including registration information for the car show, firearms show, and Freedom Rally & Ride, are available on the
