Orange Beach Community Potluck Returns in September
Longstanding tradition continues to connect neighbors each month

Orange Beach, Ala. — (OBA) — The Orange Beach Community Association is preparing to welcome residents back for its Monthly Community Potluck, a tradition that brings neighbors together over food and fellowship. The event offers a chance for community members to connect, share a meal, and enjoy the welcoming atmosphere at the Orange Beach Community Center. Many residents view the monthly gathering as more than just dinner but also an opportunity to build friendships and strengthen ties in the coastal town. New participants are encouraged to join, whether as regulars or first-time guests.
The next potluck will take place Monday, September 1, at the Orange Beach Community Center. Doors will open at 6 p.m., and dinner service is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. Guests are invited to bring a covered side dish or dessert to share with the group.
For those unable to bring food, the association has set an $8 charge to cover the cost of the meal, ensuring the event remains open to everyone in the community. Organizers emphasize that the gathering is less about what people bring and more about the shared spirit of the evening.
Each month, the entrée is provided by the Orange Beach Community Association, which oversees planning and coordination. For September, attendees will be served Moe’s Bar B Q, a popular choice known for its local flavor. The group notes that the menu centerpiece changes monthly, giving variety to the long-running event.
Membership in the association is not required to attend, but new members are always welcome. The organization highlights that potlucks are a way to involve both longtime residents and newcomers in community life. Over time, the dinners have become a cornerstone of local tradition, offering food, fellowship, and a sense of belonging in Orange Beach.
