Gulf Shores, Ala. — (OBA) —  The National Multiple Sclerosis Society is bringing its annual Bike MS: Tour de Beach fundraising ride to Gulf Shores, Alabama. The event is open to cyclists of all experience levels and raises funds for MS research and support programs. Riders can choose from three route distances: 25, 43, or 75 miles along the Alabama Gulf Coast. Each participant must raise a minimum of $200 in donations to take part in the ride.

This year's event is scheduled for next Saturday, September 26, 2026, and marks a new chapter for the Tour de Beach. Organizers have introduced a redesigned one-day format crafted to showcase the best of Gulf Shores, Orange Beach, and the surrounding area. The updated schedule offers participants a chance to experience the region's coastal scenery while raising money for a national cause.

The route will take riders along the coastline, with fully staffed rest stops available throughout the ride. Dedicated safety support teams will be present at all times. Volunteers and community members are expected to cheer riders on at various points along the course.

E-bikes are permitted in Bike MS events as long as they meet the National MS Society’s requirements. Approved e-bikes must be classified as bicycles and have a maximum assisted speed of 20 mph, which generally limits participation to Class 1 and Class 2 models. Riders using e-bikes are responsible for ensuring their battery has enough range to complete their selected route and for handling any charging or transportation needs. 

Beyond the ride itself, participants will have opportunities to enjoy the Gulf Coast's waterfront dining, white-sand beaches, and local attractions. The event encourages families and groups to make a weekend of it by combining the charity ride with a coastal getaway. Organizers say the experience blends cycling, community, and purpose in one setting.

Every dollar raised through the Bike MS: Tour de Beach goes toward the National MS Society's mission to fund groundbreaking research and expand support programs for people living with multiple sclerosis.
