Perdido Key, Fla. — (OBA) —   The Perdido Key Area Chamber of Commerce is kicking off a new event series for women in business. The Women Mean Business Committee created the LeadHer Lunch Series to connect, inspire, and empower professional women in the area. The series showcases local leaders making a real difference in their communities. The first event will be held at the Grand Lagoon Yacht Club.

The debut luncheon is scheduled for May 8, 2026, at the Grand Lagoon Yacht Club. Doors open at 11:00 a.m. for networking, and the featured speaker takes the stage at 11:30 a.m. The program runs until 12:30 p.m. Tickets are now on sale at
perdidochamber.com.

The May featured speaker is Representative Michelle Salzman, who represents Florida's 1st House District and serves Escambia County in the Florida House of Representatives. She is also a United States Army veteran who served for five years on active duty. During her military career, she earned multiple commendations for her leadership and dedication. After completing her service, she returned to Northwest Florida to continue giving back to her community.

Since returning home, Representative Salzman has remained deeply involved in education, small business ownership, and community leadership. She was first elected to the Florida House of Representatives in 2020. Since then, she has worked to strengthen families, support veterans, and expand access to mental health resources. She has also prioritized public safety and economic opportunity across the region.

One of her most notable achievements is founding the Mental Health Task Force of Northwest Florida. She has also been actively involved with organizations that support children, families, and underserved members of the community. Her work in Tallahassee and at home in the district reflects a deep commitment to the people she serves. Representative Salzman is widely recognized for her servant's heart and strong leadership.

Individual luncheon tickets are $28 for Perdido Key Area Chamber of Commerce members and $38 for non-members. Table sponsorships, seating six guests, are $200 for members and $275 for non-members. All tickets include lunch and dessert. The May menu is still to be determined.

The Women Mean Business Committee encourages attendees to bring a friend, a colleague, and plenty of business cards. Seats are limited, so organizers urge interested guests to register early. This "power hour" event is designed to foster meaningful connections among professionals. It offers a chance to hear from a dynamic leader while building relationships with like-minded women.

The Women Mean Business Committee was created to bring women in the Perdido area together through connection, collaboration, and community involvement. Its mission is to empower women by sharing professional experiences and building lasting business relationships. The committee also supports women-focused philanthropic efforts throughout the area. Each quarter, the group hosts events that foster personal growth while remaining fun and meaningful.

Events hosted by the committee typically range from structured networking to relaxed social gatherings. The LeadHer Lunch Series is the newest addition to the committee's programming lineup. Organizers say there is something for everyone, whether someone is new to networking or a seasoned professional. The series is expected to grow and evolve with each quarterly event.
