Gulf State Park Pier upgrades update
Alabama Gulf State Park • July 16, 2020
Delays will push reopening date back to mid-to-late August

(OBA®) - Pier Renovation Project update: the new hand railing and decking to the handicap-accessible observation deck has been coming along nicely.
Pier upgrades will include a new fish cleaning station, turtle-friendly lighting, refurbishing the restrooms, bait shop and concession area and much more!
We have experienced supply chain challenges due to COVID-19, minor storm damage from Tropical Storm Christobal, and addressed deteriorating conditions of the plumbing, electric and water lines.
We know how important our pier is to our visitors and our community and have chosen to make the necessary upgrades now, rather than close the pier down again in the future to address these issues. As a result, these setbacks, along with additional upgrades, will push the pier re-opening back to mid-to-late August (weather permitting).
We will continue to share progress updates on social media outlets, and we look forward to the special re-opening ceremony! Stay tuned for details!
