Gulf Shores, Ala. — (OBA) — The City of Gulf Shores has earned the Triple Crown from the Government Finance Officers Association. The Triple Crown means the city won three top awards in one year. These include the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for the 15th year in a row. It also got the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for the 13th year. Plus, the Outstanding Achievement in Popular Annual Financial Reporting for the fourth year.


The budget award goes to cities that make their plans clear and useful. They must meet 14 key rules and get rated as proficient. This helps residents see how money gets spent. It acts as a guide for policies and daily work.
