Gulf Shores, Ala. — (OBA) —  City leaders will review proposed updates to local ordinances and resolutions governing beach parking. The police department proposed the adjustments to refine regulations and manage parking flow in high-traffic public access areas.

The regular work session is scheduled for this afternoon, Monday, Sep 21, 2026, at 4 PM in Gulf Shores City Hall's Council Chambers.

In addition to parking regulations, the council will evaluate two key public safety purchases. Officials will consider authorizing the purchase of a Faro 3D crime scene mapping camera to support detailed, precise scene documentation for investigators. The department is also requesting approval to purchase an MVB3X vehicle barrier system to enhance crowd safety and perimeter security during major public events.

Recreation and cultural facilities are also prominent on the agenda. Council members will review a design and scope-of-work proposal from Leathers & Associates for the upcoming Kids Park project. The city will also evaluate a franchise agreement renewal for Suncoast Beach Services, Inc., extending through Dec. 31, 2028, and performance contracts for the 2027 Winter Entertainment Series.

During the work session, the council will also:

• Hear individual council member updates during the discussion period, featuring Councilman Stephen E. Jones.
• Review an ABC transfer license application for Sea N Suds.
• Receive updates directly from the Mayor before adjournment.
