Gulf Shores City Council Moves Monday’s City Council Meeting to Tuesday this Week
C Spire agreements highlight focus on cybersecurity improvements

Gulf Shores, Ala. – (OBA) – The Gulf Shores City Council will meet Tuesday, April 29, at 4 p.m. (instead of their normal Monday meeting) to review an agenda that includes technology upgrades, professional service agreements, and community recognitions.
Among the first items, council members will approve minutes from their April 14 Regular Meeting and April 21 Work Session. They will also consider recent expense vouchers before hearing several presentations, including the Symbol Clinic’s 2024 Annual Value Report and the announcement of the Firefighter of the Quarter.
The council will recognize the city’s inclusion in ETC’s Top Communities listing before moving into new business. Officials will vote on several resolutions, including the reappointment of members to the Beautification Board and approving a professional services contract with VitalExam.
Technology improvements are a major focus of the meeting. The council is set to authorize the purchase of NeoGov time clocks and approve multiple contracts with C Spire for network security, monitoring, and resiliency services.
Infrastructure and recreational enhancements are also on the agenda. The council will vote on a proposal with Civil Southeast, LLC, to support a Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) grant application and consider an amendment to an agreement with Goodwyn, Mills and Cawood, Inc., for work at the Laguna Cove project.
A bid award for turf field conversion at city sports facilities is also scheduled for a vote. Additionally, the council will reappoint a member to the Gulf Shores City Board of Education.
The meeting will conclude with committee and staff reports, followed by an open hearing for any residents wishing to address matters not listed on the formal agenda.
