Greek Night At The Beach Brings Mediterranean Fun To Orange Beach
Church Fundraiser Invites Guests To Eat, Dance, and Celebrate Greek Culture
Orange Beach, Ala. — (OBA) — Greek culture will take center stage at the Orange Beach Event Center when the 2026 edition of Greek Night at the Beach returns. The evening will feature traditional dishes, lively music, and authentic dancing. Organizers say the event is meant to make everyone feel Greek for one night. Guests are encouraged to bring their dancing shoes and their friends.
The celebration will be held at the Orange Beach Event Center, hosted by St. Athanasios Greek Orthodox Church, on January 10. Greek Night at the Beach is planned as an indoor evening event, giving the community a midwinter taste of the Mediterranean. Organizers hope the timing will draw both residents and visitors.
Tickets cost $100 per person and can be purchased via Eventbrite or at the
Greek Night at the Beach website. For preferred seating or sponsorship information, contact event staff at 251-401-1074. Organizers anticipate strong interest and encourage guests to reserve their spots early.
The menu is a significant draw. Well-known caterer Georgia Roussos is teaming up with Chef Emmanuel Theris to prepare a wide range of Greek favorites. Planned dishes include spanikopita, dolmathes, Greek salad, Greek-style chicken, roasted leg of lamb, and pastichio. Sides such as Athenian green beans and Greek lemon potatoes will round out the savory options.
Dessert will follow the same authentic theme. Guests can enjoy decadent baklava layered with nuts and honey, as well as powdered sugar-covered kourambiedes. These traditional sweets are typical at Greek celebrations and holidays. Organizers say they want guests to leave feeling like they have visited a Greek family table.
Beverages are also included in the ticket price. Beer, wine, and cocktails will be available throughout the night. Event planners say this makes the evening a complete package, with food, drink, and entertainment all covered. Guests will not need to purchase additional drink tickets once inside.
Music and dancing are central to the event’s atmosphere. DJ Chris Sarris will lead a music-and-light show featuring international sounds from diverse cultures. The playlist will highlight Greek music but also offer popular songs that encourage people to get on the dance floor. Organizers hope the mix will keep the energy high.
The event is designed to be friendly even to first-time dancers. Organizers say that not knowing Greek dances should not stop anyone from attending. In their words, “Don’t know how to dance like a Greek? No problem. We’ll teach you!” Volunteers will guide guests through the basic steps to join group dances.
Church members say Greek Night at the Beach is about more than one evening of fun. It is also a way to share traditions and build connections in the community. The combination of food, music, and dancing is meant to give people a taste of Greek hospitality. Organizers describe it as a chance to “live it up like a Greek.”
With its full menu, open bar, and interactive entertainment, the event aims to offer good value for the ticket price. Supporters of St. Athanasios Church view the night as both a fundraiser and a cultural outreach. As January 10 approaches, they hope to fill the Orange Beach Event Center with laughter, music, and the sound of dancing feet.
