Foley, Ala. — (OBA) —  Golfers across Baldwin County are being asked to dust off their clubs and support the 23rd Annual Foley Police Explorers Golf Tournament. The charity event raises funds for the Explorer Program, which helps young people learn about law enforcement and public service. Organizers say it will be a full day of golf, food, and fellowship at a local course. They hope the tournament will attract both serious players and casual golfers who want to support a good cause.

This year’s tournament is scheduled for June 6 at GlenLakes Golf Club in Foley. Registration and brunch will begin at 9 a.m., followed by a putting contest at 9:30 a.m. A shotgun start is set for 10 a.m., and the day will conclude with an auction at 5 p.m.

The entry fee is $130 per person, and teams will consist of 3 golfers. The fee covers green fees, a golf cart, and range balls, providing teams with everything needed for a full round. Players will also receive a pre-tournament breakfast, a tournament brunch, and a shrimp boil dinner later in the day.

Organizers say the event is designed to blend competition with fun. Entry benefits include mulligans, a Red Tee Buster option, and three drawing tickets for prizes. Tournament leaders expect the mix of contests, drawings, and food to keep participants busy on and off the course.

The Foley Police Explorers program is a volunteer program affiliated with the Boy Scouts of America. Its mission is to provide young adults with firsthand experience in law enforcement and related criminal justice fields. The program also supports the community through projects and outreach events throughout the year.

Officials say the golf tournament is one of their key fundraisers, helping cover training, equipment, and activities for the Explorers. “Whether you’re a pro at sinking birdies or just in it for the cart snacks and the sunshine, it’s going to be a fantastic day supporting our local Explorers,” organizers said. They are urging interested golfers to sign up as soon as possible to secure a spot.

The department is also inviting local businesses and individuals to consider sponsorship opportunities. Hole sponsorships are listed at 100 dollars, team sponsorships at 390 dollars, and combined hole and team sponsorships at 490 dollars. Sponsors will help ensure the event’s success and provide ongoing support for youth interested in public safety careers.

Teams can register by scanning the QR code on the event materials. Organizers note that space may be limited, so early registration is encouraged. For more information, community members can contact the Foley Police Department’s Community Safety Office at 251-943-4431 or email
