Foley City Hall

Foley, Ala. – (OBA) – The Foley City Council is set to discuss and vote on a number of resolutions at its meeting tonight. One of the most items on the agenda involves allocating additional funds for professional services related to the Downtown Residential Streetscape Conceptual Design.

The proposed funding aims to further refine plans that will shape the future of Foley’s downtown area, enhancing pedestrian accessibility, beautification, and overall infrastructure improvements. The project, led by consultant Christian Preus, is part of the city’s ongoing efforts to create a more walkable and aesthetically appealing downtown district.

City officials have been working on this initiative as part of a broader strategy to attract more businesses and residents to the downtown area. The additional funds being considered would allow for further design enhancements, including improved sidewalks, lighting, landscaping, and traffic flow adjustments. If approved, the next steps would involve finalizing the design before moving into implementation phases.

The discussion comes as Foley continues to experience growth, with an increasing number of residents and visitors enjoying the city's downtown offerings. City leaders see the streetscape improvements as a crucial step in ensuring the area remains vibrant and accommodating to future development.
