Church Offers Spaghetti Dinner And Warm Beds During Cold Weather

506 N. Pine Street in Foley

Foley, Ala. — (OBA) — St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Foley, 506 N. Pine Street in Foley, is opening its doors as a warming center for people who need a safe place to escape the cold. Church leaders say the effort is part of their ongoing mission to serve neighbors in need. The warming center will be set up in the church’s Parish Hall and will welcome anyone seeking warmth and shelter. Organizers stress that there are no qualifications or requirements to receive help at the site.

The temporary warming center will operate today, Monday, December 29, 2025, starting at 12 p.m. at the church campus. It will remain open overnight and close at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, December 30, 2025. Staff and volunteers plan to be on site throughout the entire period to assist guests and help ensure the space remains safe and comfortable.

The church is located at 506 N. Pine Street in Foley, and the Parish Hall will serve as the main gathering area for guests. Visitors can stay inside the heated building, rest, and warm up from the cold outside. A contact phone line, 251-256-8202, has been established for questions about the warming center.

Today also falls on St. Paul’s regular Community Meal Day, and the church plans to combine that outreach with the warming center. A hot meal will be served from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Parish Hall for anyone who comes by. Tonight’s menu will feature a spaghetti dinner, and organizers say everyone is welcome to attend.

Guests are encouraged to bring their own bedding, medications, and any personal comfort items needed for overnight stays. Church leaders say a limited number of blankets will be available on site for those who do not have their own. The goal is to make sure people can rest as comfortably as possible while staying indoors during the cold snap.

St. Paul’s Episcopal Church emphasizes that this effort reflects its long-standing commitment to care for the community during harsh weather. The church aims to provide warmth, nourishment, and hospitality to anyone in need when temperatures drop.
