Firefighters Douse Flaming Golf Cart in Orange Beach

Rapid Response From Orange Beach Firefighters Prevents the Fire From Spreading
UPDATED to Correct Location: Orange Beach, Ala. – (OBA) – Orange Beach firefighters’ quick response to a golf cart engulfed in flames at Ave Pub in Orange Beach prevented the fire from spreading to a second cart parked in the next parking space. Upon arrival, the fire crew found the cart fully engulfed in flames. Patrons at the club helped extinguish the fire with fire extinguishers, but the cart continued to burn.
Firefighters responded in less than 2 minutes, packed out in less than 30 seconds and immediately targeted the fire with water, extinguishing it within seconds. The incident was successfully contained to the single buggy, with no spread to nearby vehicles or property.
The cause of the fire in the electric cart has not been determined.
