Orange Beach, Ala. — (OBA) — Orange Beach is buzzing with Mardi Gras excitement this season, and one local business has become the center of celebration. Emporium@C, a boutique owned by Trisha Voltz Carlson, is welcoming visitors with a colorful mix of purple, green, and gold. From dazzling costumes to themed décor, the shop captures the festive heartbeat of the coast. Locals say it’s feeling more like Mardi Gras every day in Orange Beach.

Emporium@C has quickly earned a reputation as the city’s go-to spot for carnival fun. The boutique is offering a full range of Mardi Gras apparel, gifts, and decorations throughout the 2026 season. Carlson said her goal is to create a space that helps people experience the joy and tradition of Mardi Gras year-round.

Carlson’s enthusiasm runs deep. “Where I was born and raised, Mardi Gras is a way of life,” she said. “Once the Christmas decorations come down, we start gearing up for my most favorite time of year!” Her connection to the celebration stretches beyond the Alabama coast.

She is a longtime member of multiple Mardi Gras krewes across the region. In Orange Beach, Carlson participates in Bon Temps Cabrix and the Sirens of the Sea. In New Orleans, she serves as a float lieutenant in the Krewe of Iris, while her husband is an officer in the Krewe of Mid-City. Those ties have helped shape her store’s unique atmosphere and community appeal.

The shop’s front windows are turning heads this month, featuring Carlson’s personal collection of Mardi Gras costumes. “Putting my costumes in the window each year allows me to relive some of my most favorite Mardi Gras memories,” she said. “I have so much fun sharing stories with everyone who comes in!”

The community response has been overwhelmingly positive. “I am beyond thrilled to share my love for Mardi Gras with Orange Beach and the surrounding areas — the response has been amazing!” Carlson said. Her excitement has made Emporium@C more than just a store; it’s become a hub where locals and visitors alike feel welcome to celebrate.

As the season continues, Emporium@C invites everyone to stop by and explore its collection of apparel, accessories, and gifts. Carlson hopes her boutique will inspire others to take part in the area’s growing Mardi Gras traditions.

The shop’s success has led to exciting new growth this year. Emporium@C recently opened a second location in Perdido Key at Villagio. With two stores now open, Mardi Gras fans have even more ways to shop and celebrate along the Gulf Coast. For more information, visit
