Golf carts are encouraged for the free event featuring live music, games, food trucks, and a kids' zone
Orange Beach, Ala. — (OBA) — A free community block party is coming to Marjorie Snook Park in Gulf Shores one week from today. The city invites residents and families to gather for an outdoor night of live music, lawn games, and food. The event is free and open to the public. A kids' zone and local food trucks will also be on hand for the celebration.
The Pop-Up Park and Block Party is scheduled for Saturday, July 11, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at Marjorie Snook Park, behind City Hall at 25805 John Snook Dr. Attendees are encouraged to arrive by golf cart. Lawn chairs are recommended for the evening.
The Smokey Otis Band will provide live music throughout the event. Lawn games and a dedicated Kids' Zone will offer families more activities to enjoy. Local food trucks and beverages will also be available on site. Organizers describe the night as a chance for neighborhood bonding and outdoor fun.
The 2nd Annual Hot Dog Eating Contest will be the centerpiece of the block party. Brave contestants will go head-to-head to claim the crown at Marjorie Snook Park. Participants must be 18 years of age or older to compete. Pre-registration for the contest is now closed.
Even without a spot in the contest, community members are encouraged to come out and show their support. Organizers say the event is a great opportunity to enjoy the evening and connect with neighbors. The park sits just behind Gulf Shores City Hall, making it easy to reach from several nearby neighborhoods. Golf cart access is strongly encouraged for attendees.
