City officials want to hear from those affected by flooding and water quality

Foley City Hall

Foley, Ala. — (OBA) — The City of Foley, in partnership with Allen Engineering, is inviting members of the public to participate in an upcoming engagement meeting focused on the Bon Secour Stormwater Management Plan. This meeting is specifically aimed at individuals who live or work within the Bon Secour Watershed, but all community members with an interest in local stormwater issues are encouraged to attend.

City officials are seeking input from residents and workers who have experienced challenges related to flooding, water quality, or stormwater runoff in the area. They are particularly interested in hearing about how stormwater may have impacted daily commutes or caused other inconveniences. The goal of the meeting is to gather firsthand accounts, concerns, and suggestions that will inform the development of a comprehensive plan to address stormwater management within the Foley city limits.

City of Foley Hosts Meeting on Stormwater Management Concerns

The public engagement meeting will be held on July 15, 2025, at the Foley Council Chambers, located at 407 E Laurel Ave. The session is scheduled to run from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., providing an opportunity for attendees to share their experiences directly with city representatives and the engineering team.

City leaders emphasize that community feedback is a vital part of the planning process. By collecting stories and concerns from those most affected by flooding and water quality issues, officials hope to better understand the scope and impact of stormwater problems in the Bon Secour Watershed. This information will be used to shape strategies and solutions that are tailored to the needs of Foley residents and businesses.

Residents are strongly encouraged to attend the meeting, share their experiences, and voice any concerns they may have regarding stormwater, flooding, or water quality.
