Boggy Point Boat Ramp Will Be Closed Two Days for Repairs Next Week
Boaters should plan alternate launch sites during the Boggy Point repairs

Orange Beach, Ala. — (OBA) — The Boggy Point Boat Ramp and its parking area will temporarily close to vehicle traffic for repairs, officials announced. The notice came from the Alabama Marine Resources Division. The work is expected to be short, but it will affect access for boaters who normally launch there. Officials posted the update to give residents and visitors time to plan ahead and use alternate launch sites.
The closure will run from Tuesday, November 4, through Thursday, November 6, according to the notice. During those dates, vehicles will not be able to enter the ramp or parking area. The announcement did not list specific work hours each day but the closure is expected to be 24 hours a day.
The agency said the closure is necessary to perform maintenance and repairs at the Boggy Point site. The notice did not detail the exact repairs, but such work generally involves surface patching, striping, or dock and ramp upkeep. Crews need the area clear of vehicles to operate safely and efficiently.
Boaters who rely on Boggy Point should consider other public ramps in the area during the repair period. Launch sites in Orange Beach, Gulf Shores, and nearby Baldwin County may offer alternatives.
Pedestrian access was not specifically addressed in the notice but for safety, officials generally advise the public to avoid active work zones. Signs and barricades are expected to mark restricted areas until the project is finished.
The Alabama Marine Resources Division manages coastal access points and supports safe boating infrastructure. Keeping ramps in good shape helps reduce accidents and prevents damage to trailers and vessels. Routine repairs also protect the shoreline and improve long-term access for the public.
For more information and updates, residents can follow announcements from the Alabama Marine Resources Division. The ramp is expected to resume normal vehicle access after the repairs are complete on Friday, November 7th.
