Spring Break Violence Leads to Arrest in Gulf Shores

Gulf Shores, Ala. – (OBA) – Gulf Shores Police have arrested an 18-year-old suspect in connection with a shooting incident that took place during Spring Break in the Surf Style parking lot. The event occurred on March 27, 2024, around 8:40 PM along Gulf Shores Parkway, where a young male was injured by gunfire.

Investigators, in a joint effort with the Baldwin County Sheriff's Office, the District Attorney's Office, and Bay Minette Police, worked diligently over the week to pinpoint the individual behind the act. Gregory D. Tate, III, from Bay Minette, AL, has been charged with first-degree assault relating to the shooting and was apprehended on April 2, 2024.

The city of Gulf Shores, known for its family-friendly atmosphere and beach community, remains committed to ensuring the safety of both residents and visitors. The mayor, council, and community members strongly support the police in using all necessary resources to bring those endangering lives to justice.
