Orange Beach, Ala. — (OBA) — Coastal Public Safety Cadets introduces teens to careers in law enforcement. The program serves ages 14–18. Participants gain hands-on experience and learn the fundamentals of policing. They also help with community events while exploring whether a law enforcement career fits their interests.

Interest seminars will be held on November 30, 2026, at the Orange Beach Police Department and on December 2, 2026, at the Gulf Shores Police Department. Both sessions begin at 6 p.m.

The Orange Beach seminar will be held at 4480 Orange Beach Blvd., Orange Beach, AL 36561. The Gulf Shores seminar will be held at 312 Medical Vlg Blvd., Gulf Shores, AL 36542.

Coastal Public Safety Cadets is an apprenticeship and preparatory program for young adults interested in law enforcement. It combines hands-on learning with community involvement, offering participants opportunities to explore police work and the responsibilities of serving others.

Cadets learn the fundamentals of policing and the role of police officers. These experiences are intended to help young people understand the field as they consider pursuing a career in law enforcement.

The program announcement lists four areas participants can expect:

  • Hands-on experiences
  • Learn what police officers do
  • Get involved in your community
  • Explore a future career in law enforcement

Helping with community events is part of the cadet experience. In addition to learning about policing, participants can serve their community and see how that involvement connects to a career in law enforcement.

The upcoming seminars are open to teens who already have an interest in police work and to those who are simply curious. Young people do not need to have decided on a law enforcement career to attend an interest session.

Cadets gain hands-on experience, learn policing fundamentals, and assist with community events. The program welcomes teens considering law enforcement careers and those curious about the field.

Questions about the program or interest seminars may be directed to Officer Neuner. For details, call or text 251-923-7584 or email
