2025 Senior Center Chili Cook-Off

Orange Beach, Ala. — (OBA) —  The Orange Beach Senior Center is gearing up for its second annual Chili Cook-Off. Seven senior organizations will compete for the top prize. Attendees will serve as judges and vote for the best bowl of chili. The fun-filled evening will also feature live music and free food.

The event is scheduled for Wednesday, October 28, 2026, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Orange Beach Senior Center. Musician Truman Holland will perform live at the competition, adding to the festive atmosphere. Cheesy Grillers will also be on-site, offering free grilled cheese sandwiches to all attendees.

Last year's winner is ready to defend his crown. Brad Johnson, known by his competition nickname "Trail Boss," took home the trophy at the inaugural event and will return to face a new round of challengers. He will compete against six other organizations, each hoping to claim the title of the group's best chili maker.

  • "Trail Boss," Brad Johnson (Defending champ)
  • SouthernCare
  • Haven Memory Care, LLC
  • Live Oak Village Independent and Assisted Living

Each competing organization represents a distinct facet of senior care and community health in the Orange Beach area. The cook-off gives these organizations a chance to connect with the community in a relaxed, enjoyable setting.
