Orange Beach, Ala. — (OBA) — The Coastal Arts Center of Orange Beach is inviting the community to a lively fall evening on Wolf Bay. Organizers say the Arts Afire Fall Festival will feature art in action, family activities, and live demonstrations. The event is designed to be casual, walk-up, and kid friendly. Admission is free for all ages.

The festival is set for Thursday, Oct. 23, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Coastal Arts Center, 26389 Canal Road in Orange Beach. Guests are encouraged to arrive early to explore the grounds and plan their stops.

Hot glass artists will work the furnaces as spectators watch vessels and ornaments take shape. Blacksmiths will hammer steel into hooks and small wares at portable forges. Potters will stage raku firings, giving visitors a front-row look at the dramatic reduction process. Staff and volunteers will be available to explain each step and answer questions.

Families will find plenty for children to do between demonstrations. The evening includes kids games, face painting, music, and seasonal treats. Raffles are planned throughout the event, adding a bit of friendly suspense. Food and drink policies follow standard city guidelines for outdoor programs.

A crowd favorite returns with the Pet Costume Contest at 6 p.m. Participants often arrive in themed outfits that match their owners. Judges consider creativity, fit, and crowd response before naming winners. Friendly, leashed pets are welcome on the lawn and walkways. Another returning favorite will be the sweet and tasty treats from Anna's Cafe Smoothie Truck.

Parking is available on site, and the campus is accessible for strollers and wheelchairs. The arts center recommends comfortable shoes for moving between demo areas. Staff also suggest bringing a camera, as photo opportunities are expected around every corner. Restrooms will be open inside the main building.

The City of Orange Beach and the Friends of the Arts are sponsors. Organizers described the event as a way to introduce new audiences to glassblowing, metalwork, and ceramics. They hope the demonstrations inspire future class registrations. For general information, call 251-981-ARTS or visit the
