Orange Beach, Ala. - (OBA) - Alabama homeowners affected by the 2020 hurricanes can now apply for assistance through the Home Recovery Alabama Program (HRAP). The program aims to provide housing assistance to eligible single-family owner-occupants and owners of single-family rental homes that were damaged during Hurricane Sally in September 2020 and Hurricane Zeta in October 2020.
The HRAP offers financial aid to help with the costs of repairing, reconstructing, or replacing homes damaged during either or both hurricanes. The program primarily targets extremely-low, very-low, low, and moderate-income households, protected classes, and vulnerable populations.
For more information and to apply for assistance, homeowners can visit https://homerecoveryal.com/ or call (251) 265-7958. The Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs administers the HRAP, which serves the needs of low-to-moderate income households affected by the storms in nine counties, including Baldwin, Mobile, Clarke, Escambia, Dallas, Marengo, Wilcox, Perry, and Washington.
