Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo Hosts Summer Zoo Camp for Kids

Gulf Shores, Ala. – (OBA) – The Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo is inviting kids to experience a summer of adventure through its 2025 Zoo Camp program. The camp will give young animal lovers a hands-on opportunity to learn about wildlife and conservation.
Zoo Camp is open to children ages 5 to 16. Campers will be grouped by age and will enjoy up-close animal encounters, games, crafts, and educational activities led by trained staff and zookeepers.
The 2025 Zoo Camp sessions will take place from June 9 through July 25. Camps run Monday through Friday with half-day and full-day options available depending on the age group.
Zoo Camp Theme Weeks include:
- Week 1 – June 9-13: Zoo-venture - What is a Zoo and What Does a Keeper Do?
- Week 2 – June 16-20: Not All Superheroes Wear Capes – Animal Abilities
- Week 3 – June 23-27: Predator vs Prey – What do Animals Eat?
- Week 4 – July 7-11: Before They’re All Gone – Endangered Species and Conservation
- Week 5 – July 14-18: It’s a Zoo Around Here – Habitats vs. Exhibits
- Week 6 – July 21-25: Design-a-Zoo & Zookeeper Olympics
Each week features a different theme, focusing on animal science, conservation, and zookeeper life. Campers will explore topics like endangered species, habitats, and animal care in a fun environment.
Camp registration is now open. Early registration is encouraged, as space is limited and spots fill up quickly. Parents can register their children through the Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo’s website.
