Monday, June 30th —   Spotting sea turtles in the water can feel like a dream. Just when you’re about to shout to your group or grab your phone, they disappear as if they were never there. It’s rare to encounter these ancient creatures during an annual trip to the beach, which adds to the excitement. However, this thrill can sometimes lead vacationers or newcomers to make poor decisions regarding land sightings, especially since nesting season coincides with the busiest time of the year along our Gulf Coast shores. That’s why awareness and involvement in conservation efforts are vital to ensuring that these remarkable sightings will continue in the future. The city of Gulf Shores offers an excellent, free program for anyone interested in learning about these endangered species. By participating, you can contribute to their protection and help spread awareness. The class, titled "Sea Turtle Survival," begins promptly at 8 AM at the Beach Pavilion. Whether you bring friends and family or attend solo, this exciting and educational event is both enlightening and heartwarming. Don't miss the chance to be part of the solution! Call the number below to book your free spot and to find out other important details for the morning.

One of the best things about being on an island for the Fourth of July is that no matter which coastal venue you choose to watch the fireworks over the Gulf, you can catch glimpses of them all. It simply comes down to deciding where you’d prefer to see the fireworks up close. First up in Gulf Shores, professionals will set up at the end of the Gulf State Park Pier and launch an epic firework display at 9 PM. For a pier-only viewing, gathering around the state park is ideal, or you can head to the eastern area of the Gulf Shores beach for a chance to see it plus neighboring OB as they put on a line of displaying shows. Just down the salty path, Perdido Beach Resort will be hosting its annual firework extravaganza. This ticketed event, available to both guests and the public, is more than just a sky show; it includes a backyard-style beach barbecue with live music. If you don’t have a ticket, you won’t miss the fireworks, as the display can be seen from various spots along the white sandy shores. Turquoise Place will also be hosting its annual Free Friday show, which can be viewed from the beach. Additionally, the world-famous Flora-Bama will join in with another beachside firework display. Pop into CoastAL for a great viewing spot, as the fireworks will light up the skies all along the Gulf Coast at 9 PM. Enjoy live music, delicious food, and drinks while trying to catch a glimpse of all the displays—just be careful not to get a crick in your neck. It goes fast and bright!
