Orange Beach, Ala. - (OBA) - A beloved Orange Beach establishment, Sam's Bait & Tackle, has been sold to a local businessman for $7.6 million. Despite the ownership change, fans of the popular store need not worry: it will remain open and operating as Sam's, according to Ken Crabtree of Signature Properties, who brokered the sale.


Sam's Bait & Tackle has been a fixture in the community since it was established in 1978. John Pilcher, Jody Pilcher, Mary Pilcher and Emmie Pilcher Flowers are making the request. According to Baldwin County tax records, the group owns six parcels fronting the road east of Fat Daddy’s. They will request changes to a previously submitted site plan.
